WORKSHOPS FOR ALL

Creative thinking

This workshop focuses on various methods and approaches, habits and attitudes, insights and facts about reaching the creative source within.  It is about creative approaches and thinking/feeling, that can be channelized or applied to various aspects of life.

Writing for self-exploration

We explore writing to explore our inner selves.  Writing becomes a path and perhaps for some a destination even.  We write our way to our inner layers, our hidden corners and see what lies buried. It is a creative adventure.

Understanding hidden layers within

Exploring not so obvious or visible aspects of oneself through various exercises and discussions. The workshop will include several right brain techniques and methods.  A very intense and deep exploration into oneself is unfolded.

Beauty and the Self

What is beautiful?  We look into the dimensions of beauty in relation to oneself.  It is a travel into the essence of beauty and moving deeply in one’s own heart.  The workshop asks some essential questions about oneself, the world and our notions of beauty.  Talk, walk, silence, music, art, song, language, jestures, colours and more will go into the creating of this journey.

The art of perception
(for aspiring photographers, artists and writers)

The workshop focuses on understanding perspectives of form and colour and understanding point of view. How our filters, our conditioning, our emotional needs affect the way we explore and create, capture and share in creative work.  A workshop involving unique exercises, discussions, talks and creative work.

Perception and I (for all)

Looking into the notion of self, understanding the process of understanding, looking at what shapes our perception. We will look at the difference and similarities of data, opinion, imagination, belief, knowledge and what role do they play in our lives.

Writing short poems (micro-poetry)

We journey into the very essence of poetry.  The inner space from where it springs and the outer world diffusing into it… We explore poetic impact.  Write on everyday things and bring out their poetic dimension in a few words.

Short story writing

We plunge into exercises that help us to see stories around us.  We travel to crowded places and pick up characters.  Learn tricks, games and techniques of creating plot.  Understand perspective and narrative voice.  Learn the magic of setting and let the cauldron brew!

Descriptive writing

The art and science of converting the visible and invisible into words is explored.  From fact we move to fiction and back.  Words become our camera and our video recorder.  We trace a civilization behind a face, a world within a world.  We explore senses and places and learn the magic of what words. We walk into bazaars and bring out the magic of unique perception.

Online Course for THINKERS! (MODULE 1)

We examine the basis of beliefs, facts, opinions, and more…
We look at the process of thinking
and how we come to conclusions as individuals and as groups.

We go to history for our roots. Should we?
Do we need religion?
Can you think and feel at the same time?
Can right or wrong be universal?
Are beliefs more important than facts?
“I love you!” Really?

This is quite literally a mind-blowing course!

WORKSHOPS FOR TEACHERS

The project approach/ Theme oriented learning

A workshop on The Integral Project involving a radical shift from the teacher-driven, theory oriented, linear, single subject approach to learning, to a child-driven, trans-disciplinary, practical mode that gives a holistic and integrated approach to learning and individual development. It gives space for not only acquisition and assimilation of knowledge, but also an opportunity to observe the inherent interests and aptitude of the child, while developing mental and emotional faculties.

Writing for self-exploration

We explore writing to explore our inner selves.  Writing becomes a path and perhaps for some a destination even.  We write our way to our inner layers, our hidden corners and see what lies buried. It is a creative adventure.

Tapping the power of questions

A question can change you life.  The right question at the right time can be a portal to a different world.  From the school master questions to the zen master's bewildering koans, the question is a huge opportunity towards transformation. We examine, experiment and submit to the power inherent in questions.

Critical thinking/Theory of Knowledge

This is a course on thinking about thinking.  We explore belief, facts, opinion, and knowledge in our lives and minds.  We examine the effect of social conditioning and media on our thinking.  The phenomenon of perception is explored.   A useful course for all those who want to develop a critical eye.

Creative ways of classroom interaction

How to make class room or student group interactions more meaningful and interesting.  Exploring various unique and innovative ways of classroom interaction, that take the class beyond lectures and chalk-talk approach.  We look at small groups, pairs, individual presentations, innovative quizzing, peer/self learning as well as how to make regular classroom interaction more lively.

Creative methods for teaching English language

Explore language games for learning grammar, spellings and vocabulary.  Look at various dimensions of learning and how varied methods can enrich.

Experiencing poetry

The workshop includes experiments with different methods of imbibing and appreciating poetry.  It is a paradigm shift from a mere linguistic appreciation or analytical approach to travel to the creative core, the space from where poetry emerges.  It includes walks, sensorial activities, discussions, writing exercises and language play.

Teaching descriptive writing

This involves varied interesting techniques for teaching descriptive writing.  How to use adjectives creatively, approaches to describing people and places and understanding elements that help to enrich descriptions.

Language games

This workshop is on using interesting, often popular games children play for strengthening the use of elements of English language, such as prepositions, prefixes-suffixes, spellings, articles and so on.
